4 Hamlets agree to have Community Forrest

The effort of East Bali Watershed Initiative team to reach out to the gateway community in Ban village - East Bali has resulted 4 hamlets to agree to have community forest. The key people of the four hamlets, Head village and Pemangku (Balinese Religion Leader), express their agreement to have a community forrest in the village and are ready to work together with the community to maintain community forest in their area

New Global Investment Currently Received by East Bali Cashew

Our partner in job creation and sustainable business practice, East Bali Cashew, has received new global invenstment from Impact Investment Exchange Asia (IIX) and a leading global investment firm (KKR), allowing it to build a second factory, expand its number of employment as well as enabling it to provide a first-time wages for the local community in East Bali.

Participation in Marine Protected Area Initaial Meeting in the Development of Ridge to Reef Management Project

East Bali Watershed Initiative team was invited to take a part in a meeting of stakeholders for the proposed Marine Protected Areas in Kubu and Karangasem, East Bali regency on Aug 28th and 29th. The meeting was held by Conservation International, BPSPL (Balai Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Pesisir dan Laut) Bali and Coral Reef Alliance to introduce the concept of Marine Protected Areas to the local government officers, fisherman, and the business owners as well as to receive feedback from the local ...

Rufford Grant Awarded!

The East Bali Watershed Initiative has been honored to receive a grant from the Rufford Foundation.  This award will allow us to  continue our work in East Bali with communities, conservation organizations, small farmers, business owners, and development projects to further the sustainable economic development of the region.
